3 or 4 days in Hanoi and Northern Vietnam:

Hanoi City of course is normally the landing port and is one of the most famous travel destinations in Vietnam. Travelers can spend few hours or a day to explore the city and/ or visit nearby villages: Bat Trang Ceramic Village (15KM from Hanoi downtown), Van Phuc Silk Village (15KM from Hanoi downtown), Duong Lam Ancient Village (60KM from Hanoi downtown). Hanoi city, Vietnam

 

Halong Bay, which is 180 KM from Hanoi City, is a place travelers should not miss when they have time in Northern Vietnam. There are some options to visit the Bay: 1 day with 4 or 5 hours cruising on a daily boat trip or 2 days with 1 night on boat.

Ninh Binh, 100 KM from Hanoi City, is famous with many attractions: Hoa Lu Ancient Citadel, Tam Coc or Three Grottos, Trang An Landscape Complex, Van Long Lagoon, Bai Dinh – largest pagoda in Southeast Asia… Travelers can spend 1 day to visit this destination

Mai Chau, 170 KM from Hanoi, is recently one of the good choices and can visit in 1 or 2 days. With 2 days, travelers can visit nearby highland area Moc Chau as well.

 

Mai Chau Valley

 

Sapa town, 350 KM from Hanoi, is also a good option but it takes almost all 3 days to visit the place from Hanoi. A new highway is recently opened and you can visit this highland town in 2 days by car or bus beside the classic 3 nights/ 2 days by night trains

Day 3: Sapa – Night train back to Hanoi (Train departs around 20.00 PM from Lao Cai and arrives in Hanoi around 5.00 AM next morning)

Day 1: Hanoi arrival, visit Hanoi

Day 2: Hanoi – Mai Chau – Hanoi

Day 3: Hanoi – Halong – Hanoi

3 or 4 days in Danang and Central Vietnam:

Hue or Danang is place travelers normally arrive in the central of Vietnam. Our tour itineraies for central Vietnam shall start from either Hue or Da Nang City

Hue, the most recent ancient citadel of Vietnam is famous with Huong River (Perfume River), the Forbidden City, Mausoleums of Kings. Travelers can spend 1 day to visit the city

Da Nang, 150KM from Hue, is the economic center of Central of Vietnam, famous with many beautiful beaches, Han River, Ba Na Hills tourism complex.

Ho Chi Minh City City, former  Saigon is the biggest city, economic center of Vietnam is not only your arrival port but also good place to visit. Saigon the city itseft together with Cu Chi Tunnels, Cao Dai Holly See and many other tourist sightseeing

Mekong delta: You can choose 1 or 2 day tour to the delta from Saigon

Phu Quoc Island, a good place with beaches but seems not suitable for 3 -4 days only in Saigon

Vung Tau: Beach city, 120 KM from Saigon

Muine: Beach city, 230 KM from Saigon

  1. I and my wife together with my 2 adult sons are planning to do a Vietnam holiday from 1st January to 5 the January. We will be flying in from Singapore and will fly back there on the 5th

    I was told that either Central or South Vietnam would be better to do during that period rather than North which may be cold.

    Can you please give us some suggestions with links to what you think would be the best. We are visiting Vietnam for the first time.

  2. Would like to have a 3 night 4 day Saigon/ South Vietnam tour in May. Start point New Delhi end and fly to Penang Malaysia after Vietnam. Please send best suggestion including flights to and from Saigon
