Mai Chau Village, Northwest Vietnam
North Vietnam travel attractions:
- Hanoi: The capital of Vietnam with Noi Bai International Airport. Travelers can visit the city in a half or full day by car, motorbike or walking tours. Duong Lam Ancient Village: 60 KM from Hanoi, a half day is fine to visit the village from Hanoi. Huong Pagoda: 60 KM from Hanoi. There are daily 1 day tours to the complex from Hanoi
- Ha Long Bay: UNESCO World Heritage Site, 180KM from Hanoi, 160 KM from Noi Bai Airport, 80 KM from Hai Phong City. Travelers can visit the bay within 1 day or the most popular tours are to visit the bay in 2 days with 1 night on boat
- Hai Phong City: Third biggest city of Vietnam, a port city, 100 KM from Hanoi. 1 day to visit the city from Hanoi is fine then continue to Ha Long Bay
- Cat Ba Island: An island of Hai Phong city with Lan Ha bay, Cat Ba beach and Cat Ba National Park. To get to Cat Ba, travelers can take daily ferries, hydrofoils from Hai Phong or boat trip programs from Ha Long Bay
- Ninh Binh: The province is 100 KM to the south of Hanoi famous with Hoa Lu, Tam Coc, Bich Dong, Trang An tourism complex, Van Long lagoon, Bai Dinh Pagoda, Cuc Phuong National Park. In 2016, the KING KONG film was shot there.
- Mai Chau: The district is 180 KM from Hanoi, home of Black and White Thai ethnic minorities with houses on stilts, rice field, valleys. There are daily 1 day and 2 day trips to the villages from Hanoi
- Moc Chau: 220KM from Hanoi, a new travel destination in Northwest Vietnam, a mountainous town with eco-tourism projects, multi ethnic minorities, tea farms.
- Sapa: 350 KM from Hanoi. Travelers can get there by car, overnight trains, sleeping open buses
- Northwest area: Hoa Binh – Son La – Dien Bien – Lai Chau. To visit these destinations, travelers need at least 4 days
- Northeast area: Beside Hanoi and Ha Long Bay, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Lang Son provinces are in the Northeast area of Vietnam. To visit these places, travelers need at least 5 days
Central Vietnam travel attractions:

North to South tour itineraries in 10 days in Vietnam
The tour normally starts from Hanoi as biggest international airport located there. A half or 1 day Hanoi city tour is enough then travelers can continue to these destinations, select some of them in your tour:
- Halong Bay (180 KM from Hanoi): Tours to Halong Bay can be 1, 2 or 3 days with daily or overnight trips
- Cat Ba: Travelers can combine Cat Ba with Halong in a 3 day trip or visit the island in a 2 day tour program via Hai Phong City
- Ninh Binh (100 KM from Hanoi): Famous with Hoa Lu, Tam Coc, Bich Dong, Van Long Lagoon, Trang An Nature reserves. 1 or 2 day trip to Ninh Binh is fine
- Sapa (350 KM) from Hanoi: Travelers can travel to Sapa by night trains, which depart from Hanoi every evening or by car/ bus.
- Mai Chau (180 KM) from Hanoi: 1 or 2 days to Mai Chau is fine.
- Northwest: If you want to discover the whole area, you may need to spend the whole 10 days for Mai Chau – Moc Chau – Son La, Dien Bien – Lai Chau – Sapa
- Northeast, the mountainous area: Some 6 days is fine to explore this region which include Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Can, Lang Son
- Then, the next part of the country is the Central with Hue, Da Nang and Hoian, travelers can an 1 hour flight to either Hue or Da Nang.
- Hue: The ancient Citadel with famous Perfume River, Forbidden City. Travelers can visit the city in 1 day
