For the seventh year in a row, Vietnam was proudly bestowed with the prestigious title of “Asia’s Leading Golf Destination.” This consistent recognition is a testament to the country’s unwavering commitment to excellence in golf tourism.
World Golf Awards: Vietnam’s triumph
Vietnam has once again clinched the prestigious title of “Asia’s Leading Golf Destination” for the seventh consecutive year. The 2023 World Golf Awards (WGA) ceremony, held on the evening of October 23 in Abu Dhabi, Thua Thien Hue, witnessed Vietnam’s resounding victory. More than 200 members from golf associations around the world gathered for this grand event.
The Vietnamese delegation attending the ceremony and receiving these accolades included Mr. Pham Thanh Tri, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Golf Tourism Association, Mr. Vu Xuan Nguyen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sgolf Investment Joint Stock Company, and Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan-Dai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of Vietnam in the United Arab Emirates.
To secure the Asia Leading Golf Destination 2023 award, Vietnam had to outshine some formidable contenders, including Japan, China, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. This achievement underscores Vietnam’s position as a golfing paradise in Asia.
Hanoi shines as one of the best golf destinations
Hanoi, the vibrant capital of Vietnam, earned its place among the world’s top golf destinations by being honored as “The World’s Best Golf City Destination in 2023.” Hanoi’s recognition was a remarkable first, surpassing other cities known for their golf tourism products, such as London (UK), Paris (France), New York (USA), and Rome (Italy).
Hanoi boasts six golf course clusters, featuring ten renowned and classy branded courses. These courses, including Long Bien Golf Course, Van Tri Golf Club, Kings’ Island Golf, Minh Tri Golf Course, and Legend Hill, all meet international standards and offer diverse natural landscapes to cater to the diverse needs of golf enthusiasts.

The Hanoi Department of Tourism has recognized the potential of golf tours in Vietnam and aims to further promote its development. Their plan includes building golf tourism products, propagating and promoting golfing experiences, organizing tournaments, and hosting conferences and seminars to enhance golf tourism in the region.
In November, the Hanoi Department of Tourism will lead efforts to organize a “Program to connect Golf tourism products between Hanoi city and northern provinces and cities in 2023.” This initiative seeks to strengthen the ties between golf tourism stakeholders, fostering the growth of golf tourism in the region.
At the national level, World Golf Awards also celebrated some of Vietnam’s finest. Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang was awarded “Best Golf Hotel in Vietnam 2023,” while The Bluffs Grand Ho Tram Strip golf course received the title of “Best Golf Course in Vietnam 2023.” GolfLux secured recognition as the “Best Domestic Golf Tour Operator in Vietnam 2023.”

It will be the first tournament hosted within the framework of the European Legends Tour-Golf Tournament, bringing European professional events to Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
