Vietnam exempts visa for tourists from five Western Europe countries. When entering Vietnam with a stay in Vietnam not exceeding 15 days from the date of entry, tourists from Britain, France, Germany, Spain and Italy will not require a visa.
This policy is implemented from July 1st, 2015 to June 30th, 2016 and will be reviewed and renewed under Vietnam law, the Associated Press reported Thursday, citing a Vietnamese government website.
Vietnam Government agreed with the solutions to revise Vietnam’s tourism industry of the Ministry of Culture Sports and Tourism at the regular meeting in May 2015, including expansion of countries are exempted from visa, issuing electronic visa facilitation of processes and procedures for granting visas.
In Resolution No.92/NQ- CP on some measures to promote Vietnam tourism development, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies were asked to coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security by the Vietnam Government to study, review, and propose the expansion of countries exempted from visa with ensuring national security and order, public safety. Vietnam is reported to exempt from Visa for 7 countries unilaterally (Russia, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Japan, Korea, and Denmark), visa exemption in reciprocity with 9 ASEAN countries. Recently, the Government has issued a Resolution on visa exemption with duration for citizens of the Republic of Belarus.
