In times of peace, to support irrigation, Lam Dong province invested in the construction of the 235-meter-long Quang Trung Dam, later renamed Tuyen Lam Lake.
A significant event in the evolution of Tuyen Lam Lake took place on August 30, 1998, when the Ministry of Culture and Information decided to recognize Tuyen Lam Lake as a Historical and Cultural Site. In 2007, the tourist area of Tuyen Lam Lake was officially recognized as a national tourist destination, covering an area of 2,944.28 hectares.
