Spectacular Water Stage

One of the show’s most attractive features is its 4,300m² water stage, which mimics the ponds and rice paddies of rural Vietnam. Performers often interact with the water, creating stunning visual effects that reflect the region’s deep connection to the Red River Delta.

The stage, surrounded by natural scenery, seamlessly integrates with the landscape, offering an immersive experience. The audience dives into a magical realm as the lights dance on the water and performers glide across the surface.

Authentic Live Performances

The show’s cast includes over 250 performers, many of whom are local villagers. Under the big stage lights, costumes and props, the farmers are different. Technological Marvel

While the show is rooted in tradition, it also makes impressive use of modern technology. Lighting, sound systems and stage effects enhance the storytelling, creating a visually captivating experience. Highlights include vivid projections, synchronized lighting, and an innovative stage design that transitions seamlessly between scenes.

The Quintessence of Tonkin is a delicate combination of 6 different aspects, corresponding to 6 performances: Poetry, Buddhism, Nostalgia, Music & Painting, Peace & Harmony and Joy & Festival.

“Poetry”: Inspired by the poetry “Thu Dieu” of Nguyen Khuyen, the folk song Tat Nuoc Dau Dinh and the lullaby of Tonkin, the show begins with images of young girls by the lotus pond, boys teasing them, and a very ordinary life of the rural people.

The image was inspired by the poem Tranh To Nu by poetess Ho Xuan Huong.

“Peace & Harmony”: Religious beliefs and activities play an important role in the lives of villagers. The worship of the Third Holy Mother and Mother Goddess– saints who are in charge of the rice fields and help with successful farming and agriculture – gives villagers a more comfortable life.
