Located in northern Thailand, Chiang Mai is the second largest city in Thailand. If you like ancient temples (Wats) and buildings, then visit Chiang Mai and the surrounding areas, they are full of them, and is home to over three hundred temples. A good number of these ancient temples are still in use today by the Buddhist monks.
Upon your arrival to Chiang Mai, you will be met by our guide and driver and escort you to Chiangmai downtown with a brief introduction en route. Check in hotel. Overnight in Chiang Mai.
The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore a sprawling modern city has grown up around ancient Chiang Mai, ringed by a tangle of superhighways.
08.00 am: Chiang Mai city tour, including Wat Phra Singh. It is one of over 200 ancient Buddhist temples located around the city, one of the most well-regarded examples of Lanna architecture. And Wat Chediluang, the temple is the site of an enormous pagoda, originally 280 feet high, and which was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545. Then transfer by minivan to Warorot market, to see and feel the real northern people’s pace of life. Lunch at restaurant.
Afternoon transfer to Doi Suthep temple, the most sacred temple upon the hill with its enormous mythological Nagas staircase of 306 steps and inside the cloister is an intriguing copper-placed chedi topped by a five-tier gold parasol, which contains relics of Lord Buddha.
Then return to hotel. Overnight at hotel in Chiangmai.
After breakfast, heading to the south of Chiang Mai to Doi Inthanon National Park, the highest peak in Thailand, 2,565 meters above sea level. Driving along the excellent winding mountain road through pine forest scenery. Visit Thailand’s finest waterfall, nature trails, Royal pagodas, and botanical gardens. Descending to Mae Chaem for a relaxing lunch at the local restaurant.
After lunch, continue passing through pine forests until we reach Mae Sariang, near the border to Myanmar, where you later enjoy your peaceful accommodation. Overnight at resort in Mae Sariang.
After breakfast, leave Mae Sariang to Mae Hong Son on narrow twisty curvy roads. In Khun Yuam we make a break and visit a World War II museum. Visit Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu, the first temple of Mae Hong Son on the hilltop. Lunch is served at a local restaurant.
After that, visiting Lod cave, which means, “cave with a stream running through”, on a bamboo raft. Then back on twisty curvy roads to Pai. Overnight Pai.
Morning visit Wat Mae Yen and Chinese village at Baan Santichon and drive up the hill to Yunlai, Pai’s viewpoint. Lunch at restaurant. Afternoon visit Huay Sai Ngam Natural spring and return to hotel.
After breakfast, leave your hotel early morning to Lampang to visit Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, one of the most finest Lanna Temple. After that, visit Wat Phra Kaew Don Tao, former house of Emerald Buddha Image. Then continue to Ban Sao Nak, the Great & beautiful Lanna House which made of Golden Teak woods. Then heading to Chedi Sao Lang (the temple of twenty chedi). This temple is unique because of its combination of Lanna (Northern Thailand) and Burmese styles. Later on, transfer to the hotel for checking in.
Overnight in Lampang.
