Welcome to Mango Cruises, providing memorable private cruising experiences in Vietnam’s picturesque Mekong Delta. We combine high quality private sampans, in-depth local knowledge/experience, and dedicated staff & crew to give you a cruise you will never forget, along river routes that remain untouched by commercial tourism
We are thrilled to announce that Mango Cruises has been published in the latest edition of the Lonely Planet travel guide! We are also very thankful to be recognized as a “Top Choice” and we are very grateful for their online write-up, here
The Lonely Planet travel guide is perhaps the most important item a wayward traveller needs as they leave home, and their recognition of Mango Cruises touring less-visited areas is likely the best two-word description of our services.
On arrival, take a Xe loi ride through the local village of Huu Dinh to enjoy the green fields and gardens. Continue with a short walk to Huu Phuoc Bridge, where you will start your boat trip through small canals with beautiful tropical scenery. On board the boat, enjoy a welcome drink and tropical fruits while cruising.
The cruise will first stop at a family owned Coconut Processing factory, learn how every ounce of the coconut is utilized. Then cross the river to a brick making operation, where the locals still use centuries-old traditional methods to make the bricks by hand. Enjoy a casual cycling trip that will take you to the local house of Mr. Long. Mr. Long and his family have a very interesting bee farm, where they process honey for the local market.
Continue on to a local rice noodle factory which produces Hu Tieu noodles, one of the most popular dishes in the region. After your visit take a short walk to one of our friends, Mrs. Huong, who lives with her 3 children and grandson – they live on fishing, shrimp and fruit orchards. Enjoy fresh fruits and tea and then board a rowing sampan taking you through a lush narrow canal, displaying the tranquil nature of the region.
After our team rows you through the quiet canal, reconnect with your Day Cruiser and enjoy a cruise to Mango Home. It is time for you to relax and check-in, after freshening up from the day’s activities enjoy a five course lunch of local specialties, some grown organically in the Mango Home garden!
After lunch, enjoy a visit to Mr. Sau Tuong, a former Vietcong soldier who survived two years fighting the Khmer Rouge in Phnom Penh. Now he and his wife live on making rice paper which is the most famous specialty of My Long village. Have a chat with him and enjoy the crispy rice paper made by his wife, and see how it is made.
Return to Mango Home, perhaps it is time to relax at one of the nice sitting areas? In the early evening prepare to join the cooking demonstration with your guide.
Overnight will be spent at Mango Home.
Breakfast will be served on the verandah, then you will take our beautiful day cruiser to Tai Phu canal. You will cycle in a very quiet area and eventually reach the My Long wet market by crossing the bridge.
Enjoy a walk through the market, which offers everything from fresh seafood, meat, vegetables and even dry goods and clothing. You will also have a chance to see a family owned shrimp farm.
Cycle to Phong Nam village to see a local Cao Dai Temple and learn about their traditions and beliefs. Return to Mango Home, and freshen up before enjoying a five course lunch.
After lunch, take a stroll through the garden and then check-out and take a final boat cruise into Ben Tre city. Your private car will be awaiting you and will return you to HCMC.
